Some bad news has been revealed by Jim Montgomery regarding Matthew Poitras heading into tonight’s game.
During his morning media press conference this morning, Jim Montgomery revealed that Matthew Poitras is out day-to-day with an injury.
Matthew Poitras has been given the same chances as all the other young prospects for the Boston Bruins. He was told that his spot is not guaranteed, and that he would have to earn it.
The Boston Bruins have given Poitras many looks, and he looked like he was on track to make the opening night roster, but this injury may be a set back for him.
Last year Poitras surprised a lot of people making the roster out of camp at the age of 19, nobody expected that, but he proved to the Boston Bruins that he could play in the NHL.
Sadly his season was cut short after suffering an shoulder injury. He would have to have surgery on it and missed the rest of the regular season along with the playoffs.
There still is a good chance that Poitras makes the Boston Bruins opening night roster. This preseason they have been playing him on the wing, and at center, so it’s unclear where he would play, but the odds of him making the team are up there.
Do you think Matthew Poitras is going to make the opening night roster out of camp again?
