The Las Vegas Raiders are set for a significant change heading into the remainder of the season after firing offensive coordinator Luke Getsy.
The team has reportedly relieved Getsy from his post following a dismal start to 2024, which exposed Getsy as one of the least effective OCs in the NFL, with the Raiders languishing in multiple key offensive categories, including total yards, rushing yards, and points per game.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Getsy’s departure is likely to make way for former Washington offensive coordinator Scott Turner.
Luke Getsy Was Not The Only One Fired By The Raiders
Vegas, now 2-7 after Sunday’s 41-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, has also fired other staffers along with Luke Getsy, terminating offensive line coach James Cregg and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello.
Getsy’s play-calling and offensive schemes had been under scrutiny all season. His failure to display consistency in the running game and questionable execution on crucial downs also fed the team’s decision.
