Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Mitch White has announced that he has decided to sign a contract overseas as he will be playing in the Korean League in 2025.
White was acquired by the Blue Jays in 2022 but did not last long as he went 0 for 5 in his first season in Toronto with a 7.74 ERA and across the two next years would only record two more wins before being designated for assignment in mid April this year.
Unfortunately, it never worked for White in Toronto. He went 0-5 after the trade and then made just 10 appearances in 2023. He had a 1-0 record this season for the Jays in four appearances but then moved onto San Francisco (three games) and Milwaukee (four games). -Farkas

The SSG Landers of the Korean Baseball Organization announced today that the team agreed to a one year deal worth $1 million with White. His original plan was to enter minor league free agency but chose to go to Korea after all.
The SSG Landers announced that right-hander Mitch White has agreed to a one-year, $1MM contract with the Korea Baseball Organization team. White elected to become a minor league free agent at season’s end, after he was previously outrighted off the Brewers’ 40-man roster back in June. -Farkas
Despite a tough road ahead, White could still make his way back to the MLB if he plays well in Korea as the MLB has been scouting a ton of games there and we have seen players in the past go to Korea then return to the MLB.
The silver lining in all this is that there’s a potential path back to the big leagues for White if he wants it. Just in the last few years, we’ve seen both Chris Flexen and Erick Fedde pitch in Korea, have success, and come back to fruitful major league opportunities. -Farkas
