Jackson Arnold spoke to the media after the game about establishing the run game early and what this win means to the seniors.
Jackson, you guys were able to establish the run game from the beginning. Was that the game plan and what was it like to execute it that way?
Jackson: Yeah, it was huge. Obviously, all week we had a bunch of stuff in the game plan but running was a big emphasis for us. I think there was some stat about Bama where if you had over 200 yards rushing or you won the rushing battle against them, you’re going to win the game. So we really focused on our run game and we didn’t take as many shots today because the run game was working great.
You guys are the more physical team tonight. How does that make you feel?
Jackson: It feels great being able to out physical a team with a history like Alabama. Obviously, it’s a great feeling. You’re talking about just being physical and inflicting pain on others and I thought that’s what we did tonight.
With everything that’s happened this season, how good does this feel for yourself to get a win like this?
Jackson: Yeah, it’s huge. This will be a signature win in my playing career and you don’t have many like this. I don’t know if I ever will have the field rushed again when I play but you know it’s special especially on senior night with all the seniors. Playing for them I think really motivated us tonight.
