ESPN Jokes Are Pouring in Over Viral NFL Playoffs Post

ESPN’s attempt to showcase NFL quarterbacks for the upcoming playoffs quickly turned into a viral sensation for all the wrong reasons.

The network posted a split-image graphic on Instagram, featuring 14 quarterbacks from teams in the postseason, with the caption, “There can only be one. Who’s your pick to win Super Bowl LIX?.”

However, fans took issue with the post and even took to the comment section to mock it.

The graphic included quarterbacks such as Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen. Despite these star athletes being featured, it was the way the images were edited that caught fans’ attention—and not for its artistic brilliance.

“I don’t know who thought these were tough but whoever it was needs to be fired ASAP,” one fan commented.

“Worst graphics I’ve ever seen!,” another added.

It seems ESPN’s social media team tried to spark some engagement, but instead, it ended up with a flood of hilarious responses from fans, who couldn’t help but poke fun at the unusual design.

A particularly popular target was the split-image of Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson.

“Russ and Lamar look crazyyyyyy and not in a good way,” one user wrote.

Others questioned why Wilson appeared “half asleep.”

Some fans were concerned with the “touching” looks of Sam Darnold and Matthew Stafford, while others focused on what they deemed to be inaccurate representations of players like Justin Herbert.

“What is going on with Herbert’s hair?” one commenter asked.

“That is not Herbert,” another humorously said.

The graphic also displayed quarterbacks such as Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold, who received their own share of criticism.

“Darnold and Stafford look like they’re gonna touch me,” one fan joked.

Others commented on Bo Nix’s image, calling him “looking like he came from a war.”

Despite the playful criticism, the post has sparked a lot of conversation among NFL fans. Some have called for the social media team behind the graphic to “never do this again,” while others simply asked, “What in the world is this?”

While ESPN’s effort to hype up the playoffs may not have landed exactly as intended, one thing is certain—the NFL postseason is heating up and fans are definitely paying attention, even if it’s to laugh at the visuals.
