Lamar Jackson Sends Warning to AFC Playoff Teams After Dominant Win Over Steelers
The lack of playoff success from Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens has been the only true thorn in the side of the two-time NFL MVP.
While he’s enjoyed plenty of success in the regular season, Jackson only had two playoff wins to his name heading into a Saturday night matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After a 28-14 drubbing, though, Jackson now has three, thanks to a dominant effort on the ground from the Ravens who racked up 299 rushing yards.
Star running back Derrick Henry finished the game with 186 yards and two touchdowns on the ground while Jackson added another 81 before raving about his teammate to the press.
“Do you watch the movie ‘Cars’? When Lightning McQueen was just flying flashing past, that’s how Derrick looks,” Jackson said after the game. “He was running past all those guys. It just looked like a movie, bro. I’d rather be watching it than being on the other side of the ball. I know that.”
While the team is enjoying the win, Henry knows the team has bigger goals than a wild card victory.
“We’re not going to get too ahead of ourselves and go off the walls about how great we are,” Henry said. “We’re going to stay level-headed, enjoy this one, watch the film, see where we can get better at and then move onto the next one.”
As for who their next opponent is, Jackson doesn’t care – he’s ready for anyone.
“I’m not rooting for nobody. We’re ready,” he told reporters after the game.
Baltimore awaits this afternoon’s Buffalo Bills-Denver Broncos game. If the Bills win, the Ravens will travel to Buffalo, but its the Broncos win, Baltimore will host the Houston Texans.
