Penn State RB Nicholas Singleton announces return for 2025 season

Penn State running back Nick Singleton is returning for his senior season with the Nittany Lions, he announced in a Twitter graphic on Monday afternoon.

The talented running back accounted for 1,099 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in 2024, while also catching 41 passes for 375 yards and five scores.

“After discussing my football future with my family, I have decided to return to Penn State for the 2025 season,” Singleton wrote. “We still have goals we want to reach as a team, and I want to be alongside my teammates as we reach those goals. I am scheduled to graduate this fall and will earn a degree from Penn State University, which has always been a goal for me.”

Nicholas Singleton’s return will give Penn State a significant piece to work with on offense going forward, coming off a year in which the program reached the College Football Playoff semifinals.

As noted, he was wildly productive as a junior in 2024. Of course, that’s nothing new.

Singleton burst onto the college football scene as a freshman in 2022. He ran for 1,061 yards and 12 touchdowns, instantly becoming a household name in the sport. His success has only continued from there.

As a sophomore in 2023, Nicholas Singleton ran for 752 yards and eight touchdowns. But he increased his productivity as a receiver quite a bit, hauling in 26 passes for 308 yards and two touchdowns.
