Miami Heat: Milwaukee Bucks Ready to Make Bold Jimmy Butler Trade Offer
Jimmy Butler does not want to remain with the Miami Heat, a franchise he has led to two NBA Finals. The 35-year-old has made his stance pretty clear and now, it is up to the organization to find him a new home before the trade deadline next month.
Of course, it is very possible that Butler could remain in Miami in the absence of a suitable trade offer. But that would be far from ideal.
Just look at the Heat’s recent performance against the Denver Nuggets as Butler returned from his suspension.
Butler himself put up 18 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists, and many felt that he looked disinterested.
Of course, Butler’s age, injury history and contract situation mean that there might not be many teams, if any, going all out to pull off a trade despite his impressive playoff record.
The Milwaukee Bucks do seem to be one who have an interest in trading for Butler although it remains to be seen if they can find an agreement with the Heat.
According to Rob Peterson, the Bucks are highly interested in trading Khris Middleton for Butler in any potential deal, while sending Pat Connaughton to a third team for financial reasons.
Middleton is a three-time All-Star and a one-time NBA Champion. But as he continues to deal with fitness issues, the 33-year-old seems to be on the decline.
This season, he has played 17 games and is averaging 12.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists. A far cry from the numbers he was putting at his best some years ago.
So, all things considered, it would be a surprise if the Heat find such a trade offer an attractive one.
