A free agent attacker is due to undergo a medical with Sheffield Wednesday.
Sheffield Wednesday completed their fourth signing of the summer transfer window on Friday, signing Svante Ingelsson from Hansa Rostock.
The Swedish midfielder moves to S6 following Rostock’s relegation from 2.Bundesliga, joining the likes of Ben Hamer, Max Lowe, and Yan Valery in signing for Danny Rohl’s team.
The Owls have wasted no time in their preparations for the 2024/25 Championship campaign, which gets underway with a game vs Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle at Hillsborough on August 11th.
The Sheffield Wednesday first-team looks set to be drastically different then to what it was at the end of last season, and it appears as though the Owls now have a fifth summer signing lined up.
Jamal Lowe undergoing Sheffield Wednesday medical
Sheffield Wednesday News understands that free agent attacker Jamal Lowe is due to undergo a medical with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday morning.
The 29-year-old was released by Premier League Bournemouth at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, after spending time on loan with Swansea City last time round.
Jamaican international Lowe scored nine goals and assisted three more in 35 Championship outings as the Swans finished in 14th place of the table.
In his career, Lowe has 39 goals in 186 Championship appearances, having represented the likes of Swansea, Bournemouth, and QPR in the second tier.
Lowe’s best scoring season in the Championship came in 2020/21 where he scored 14 for the Swans as they achieved a top six finish.
Lowe also has promotion experience to his name having won promotion from League Two with Portsmouth in 2017 and from the Championship with Bournemouth in 2022.
