$146 Million NBA Superstar’s Credit Card Didn’t Work At Coffee Shop

On Monday, the Heat announced Butler was suspended once again, this time indefinitely. After he was told he wasn’t going to start, Butler walked out, and soon after, the suspension came.

On Wednesday, a video surfaced of Butler at his own coffee shop, BigFace.

In the video, Butler was seen using an American Express Centurion Card, also referred to as the AMEX Black Card.

He tried to tap to pay for an order of a total of $107, but it wasn’t working, which prompted a hilarious response.

“You’re currently unemployed so your card doesn’t work sir. Sorry,” one BigFace employee joked.

Butler is currently on a three-year, $146 million contract he signed with the Heat, so it is highly unlikely that Butler didn’t have the funds.

Rather, it looked like an issue with the machine, and once he inserted the card it looked like it worked.

Since Butler is currently suspended without pay, he is missing out on $532,737 per game, per Bobby Marks.

Still, it’s a hilarious exchange between Butler and the employee at Butler’s coffee shop. All eyes will be on the Jimmy Butler trade front until the deadline hits.
