Former Indiana Hoosiers star Jalen Hood-Schifino in massive NBA trade involving Anthony Davis and Luka Doncic

Jalen Hood-Schifino will be heading to the Utah Jazz after three-way trade betweeen Jazz, Lakers and Mavericks

The Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks have just made of the most shocking deals in NBA history as Luka Doncic will be heading to the Lakers to pair up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis is heading to the Mavericks to pair up with Kyrie Irving.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania the Lakers will receive Donicic, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris, the Mavericks will receive Anthony Davis, and a 2029 first-round pick and the Utah Jazz will receive former Indiana Hoosier Jalen Hood-Schifino, 2025 second round picks from the Los Angeles Clippers and Mavericks.

“I believe that defense wins championships,” Mavs general manager Nico Harrison told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin regarding his motivation to trade Doncic for Davis. “I believe that getting an All-Defensive center and an All-NBA player with a defensive mindset gives us a better chance. We’re built to win now and in the future.”

Doncic, 25, is in his seventh NBA season, averages 28.6 points for his career and has been named first team All-NBA five times.

Davis is one of the best defensive players in the NBA, at 31 he still averages 25.7 points per game, 12 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.1 blocks per game.

For “JHS” for context, as a freshman at Indiana, Hood-Schifino averaged 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting 41 percent from the field.

Jalen Hood-Schifino was the 17th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft by the L.A Lakers. The former first rounder played most of his rookie year in the G-League for the South Bay Lakers. Hood-Schifino averaged 22.0 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.7 rebounds while shooting 47 percent from the field.

Hood-Schifino struggled to see action this season and has appeared in just 25 games averaging 1.7 points, 0.6 points, and 0.4 assists in 5.3 minutes per game.

What’s the buzz on Twitter? I’m going to be honest it’s A LOT!
