After months and months of games as rivals, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are set to be teammates in the WNBA All-Star Game this weekend.
Speaking to reporters last night, Clark was asked what she expects from Reese in the All-Star Game. Not surprisingly, she said she expects that Reese will lead not only the team but the entire game in rebounds because “that’s just what she does.”
“She’s certainly probably going to lead the game in rebounds. I expect that out of her. That’s just what she does,” Clark said.
But while Clark might have been trying to say something nice about her Chicago Sky rival, fans saw it as a not-so-subtle attempt for Clark to troll The Chi Barbie.
“Angel will lead in RB because she misses her first two attempts and gets her own rebound. This is elite trolling,” one user replied.
“notice she didn’t say points,” wrote another.
“‘Rebounds’….lol….good one CC, got to get them in when you can…” a third wrote.
For the most part though, the replies were very positive as fans saw Clark being respectful and humble to a player who has given her no shortage of headaches on the court over the past year-plus.
Most likely, Clark wasn’t trying to throw shade, especially not when she and Reese are going to team up for the first time ever.
Will Clark and Reese show good chemistry during the All-Star Game?
