The Georgia Bulldogs are ending the week on a high note after landing a commitment from giant four-star offensive lineman Jaun Gaston.
The 6-foot-7, 360-pound lineman from Westlake High School in Atlanta is the 14th-ranked IOL and the No. 187 overall prospect from the 2025 class.
Gaston said he listened to his heart when it came time to make a decision, picking the Bulldogs over the Tennessee Volunteers, Oregon Ducks, and South Carolina Gamecocks.
“I took my time and I made my decision this week,” Gaston told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I was playing basketball and things started slow in 9th grade. Things started speeding up in the 10th grade and I maintained things in the 11th grade before it got more serious.
“Throughout the recruiting process, I stayed pretty neutral in my head and kept an open mind. This week, my heart told me it was Georgia, so that is why I picked them.”
Gaston also said offensive line coach Stacy Searels played a role in his final choice and, of course, Georgia’s winning culture was an easy sell.
As a junior in 2023, Gaston started at left tackle for Westlake High, which went 9-3 in Georiga’s highest classification. Following his outstanding performance, he was an Atlanta Journal-Constitution All-Metro selection.
Gaston also plays on Westlake’s basketball team where he helped his team make the second round of Georgia’s 7A state tournament as a sophomore.
Including Gaston, the Bulldogs currently have 22 players committed to their class of 2025.
