Paige Bueckers took part in a rapid-fire round on Monday alongside renowned stylist Britanny Hampton for StockX. The duo was asked several questions like their style inspirations, ideal sneaker designs and overrated trends alongside a few basketball ones.
When asked about the best active WNBA player from the 2024-25 season, Buecekrs did not hesitate in naming the NBA 2k25 cover athlete, A’ja Wilson:
“I would probably say, A’ja Wilson’s going crazy this season,” Buecekrs said as Hampton leaned toward Diana Taurasi in an all-time scenario.
As the 2024 WNBA season began, Caitlin Clark was eyed to make a strong MVP impression. However, she went through an acclimatization process which slowed her production earlier on.
With that, Wilson currently leads the WNBA in scoring and the MVP power rankings behind averages of 27.2 points and 11.9 rebounds. Apart from scoring and rebounds, Wilson is also churning out her career-best numbers in steals (1.8) and blocks (2.8) alongside her second-best shooting efficiency (52.7%).
Nevertheless, as Caitlin Clark steadily finds her comfort zone, she is one of the top players for the Rookie of the Year award.
The WNBA season is on a mid-season break due to the 2024 Paris Olympics, where A’ja Wilson led Team USA to their eighth consecutive gold medal and earned the tournament MVP title.
The second half of the regular season resumes on Friday.
Paige Bueckers is the frontrunner of the new-age Team USA women’s roster
Unlike the men’s Team USA roster, the American women dominated the court for the majority of their Olympic tourney. That was until the gold medal game against France, where last-second luck enabled them to survive.
With that, a new cycle will be in motion and Paige Bueckers is one of the top players to lead the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics squad. Due to her last college eligibility year and confident notions of winning the NCAA title, Bueckers is slated to be one of the most-watched NCAA women’s players this season. She is also touted as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA draft.
Moreover, Paige Bueckers has long ties with the national program through her stints in the age-restricted FIBA tournaments.
Her Team USA journey began with a gold medal run in the 2017 FIBA Americas U16 Championship. The following year, she lodged five Team USA appearances with the Latvia U17 International Invitational tourney, 3×3 Spokane Hoopfest Youth Olympic Games, 3×3 National Championship and gold medalist U17 World Cup Team.
In 2019, she was part of the undefeated U19 Team USA World Cup crew and a silver medalist on the 3×3 U18 National Championship roster.
