Trevoh Chalobah has already made quite the impression at Crystal Palace.
The 25-year-old signed on loan from Chelsea for the 2024/25 campaign on transfer deadline day, bolstering Oliver Glasner’s defensive options after Joachim Andersen moved to Fulham and Rob Holding was banished.
So, what has Trevoh Chalobah already done at Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…
Trevoh Chalobah impresses Paddy McCarthy with stunning strike
Crystal Palace signed Eddie Nketiah to do the business in front of goal, but Chalobah was the one who caught the eye in terms of finishing at Copers Cope.
The man born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, was partaking in a drill with Paddy McCarthy where four different posts need to be touched, before a ball is played through to be finished.
As Chalobah was slotted in on goal, the Chelsea loanee adjusts his body before striking a beautiful effort into the top left corner with the outside of his right foot, as you can see below.
It was an outrageous show of technique – something Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise would be proud of – which showcased Chalobah’s comfortability with the ball at his feet.
McCarthy clearly enjoyed the goal, as the Irishman can be heard saying “oh Trev” in amazement.
Oliver Glasner can use Chelsea loanee in several areas at Crystal Palace
Many Crystal Palace fans have been discussing where Chalobah will fit – with some fearful that Chris Richards could be dropped to accommodate the Chelsea loanee and Maxence Lacroix.
However, Glasner could still get Chalobah into his starting XI without having to leave Marc Guehi, Richards or Lacroix out.
The Chelsea academy graduate is primarily a central defender, but he has also made 88 appearances as a defensive midfielder throughout his career, and 20 at right-back.
Therefore, Chalobah’s versatility should see him make plenty of appearances during his season on loan at Crystal Palace, either as part of the backline, or in midfield.
