It appears that Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand explained during the Boston Bruins foundation golf tournament that he will be unable to be on the ice for the first day of training camp as he continues to recover from several surgeries.
It was reported a few weeks ago that Marchand had undergone three procedures over the course of the summer to repair damage to his elbow, abdomen and a sports hernia. This led to many pundits to speculate on whether he will be ready to start training camp and many felt that he was able to.
Must
But it appears that he is still recovering especially from his elbow surgery then will likely remain out for a short period of time. It’s likely the Bruins anticipated this news as the team is set to begin their training camp and get ready for their first preseason game.
The team has undergone some several changes including the additions of defenceman Nikita Zadorov, center Elias Lindholm, Max Jones and Riley Tuffe. The biggest piece of news for the Bruins is still ongoing as the team had traded Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators in hopes that Jeremy Swayman would sign a contract quickly. That has not been the case as he remains unsigned and remains in the middle of a contract dispute.
The team appears ready to go and to get a look at their prospects and the new additions of the team as the NHL season is on the horizon.
The 2024 rookie camp is set to begin on Wednesday September 11th with their first game set for September 13th in Buffalo NY against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
