Former Allen High School teammates Taylen Green, Raylen Sharpe reunited with Arkansas football
When wide receiver Raylen Sharpe entered the transfer portal from Fresno State after the 2024 season, it didn’t take much convincing to get him to Arkansas.
He had already played for offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino and receivers coach Ronnie Fouch at Missouri State, where he played from 2022-23. Fouch called him almost as soon as he entered the portal.
But he also knew quarterback Taylen Green. The pair had gone to middle school together, grew up running track and playing football together and were teammates at Allen High School in Texas.
But Green wasn’t throwing to Sharpe at the time.
Sharpe was also a quarterback then, and he was actually ahead of Green at the position. When Green was a sophomore, he threw one pass for the Eagles.
