When the summer transfer window slammed shut, at the end of August, I was surprised our striker, Joe Taylor, was still on our books.
To me it looked as if Joe, was heading out of the exit door with Huddersfield Town the most likely destination.
Indeed, it appears that Joe had undertaken the journey to Yorkshire to secure a move to the League One club but was recalled by the Hatters as there was insufficient time to recruit a replacement for the young striker.
But it would seem that the delay may only be temporary.
Although there is still some time until the January transfer window opens, speculation, as reported by Football League World, is emerging that Huddersfield Town remain intent on securing the services of the player who while on loan last season with Colchester United and Lincoln City was their top-scorer.
Our referenced source infers that Huddersfield Town believe a fee, in the region of, £2 million will be enough to persuade Luton Town to seal a deal.
If the speculation is true I, for one, would be disappointed to see Joe leave, he brings something different to our attacking play and I don’t believe he has been given sufficient opportunity to show what he can do, if given an extended run in the team.
But what are your thoughts on this piece of speculation?
