Skip Bayless Predicts Winner of Ohio State vs. Texas Playoff Semifinal Without Hesitation
Ohio State handled the nation’s No. 1 ranked team, Oregon, in the Rose Bowl on Wednesday, setting the stage for a College Football Playoff semifinals showdown at the Cotton Bowl Classic in Arlington, Texas on Friday, January 10 at 7:30 p.m.
The Buckeyes will take on the Texas Longhorns, who narrowly averted disaster with a 39-31 overtime win over rising star Cam Skattebo and the Arizona State Sun Devils on Wednesday.
After the dust had settled from a surprising day of College Football Playoff action, longtime pundit Skip Bayless took to X to reveal his prediction.
“Ohio State will beat Texas pretty easily,” Bayless said in a post viewed over 74,000 times on X as of Wednesday night.
Fans reacted to Bayless’ fearless prediction with comments of their own on the real-time social media platform.
“Texas does not have the quarterback play,” one fan wrote.
“I thought they all said they would beat Michigan too,” another fan added.
“Go to sleep old man. HOOK EM!!!” another reader wrote.
Ohio State is 1-2 all-time against the Longhorns, their first game coming in 2006 at Ohio Stadium, which was a 25-22 Texas win.
Ohio State beat Texas 24-7 in 2006-2007 in Austin and lost 24-21 at the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona in 2008-2009, the two teams’ last meeting.
