Arkansas baseball’s Cam Kozeal named SEC player of the week
FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas first baseman Cam Kozeal was named SEC player of the week Monday following the Razorbacks’ sweep of Missouri.
In 3 games against the Tigers and 1 at-bat in a midweek game against Grambling State, Kozeal had 9 hits and 13 RBI.
He hit 3 doubles and 2 home runs, including a grand slam. Both homers came in Game 3 against Missouri.
Kozeal’s season batting average of .417 is second in the SEC, as is his conference-only average of .532.
“If you look at his name, it looks like it’s [pronounced] Co-zeal,” Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said at Monday’s Swatter’s Club meeting. “One day in early spring, I think I said his name and I called him Co-zeal.
