LSU’s Kim Mulkey Dealt Unfortunate News After NCAA Tournament Loss

The LSU Tigers’ women’s basketball program has been thriving under the leadership of Kim Mulkey for the past several seasons, but an NCAA Tournament loss now has the team treading in the wrong direction.

LSU suffered a loss to the UCLA Bruins in the Elite Eight, sending the Tigers back home after they had defeated NC State, Florida State and San Diego State in the NCAA Tournament.

Following the loss for Mulkey and company, three players have entered the transfer portal.

According to Talia Goodman at On3, Aalyah Del Rosario was the latest to enter her name in the transfer portal, leaving Mulkey with a couple of roster holes to fill.

Del Rosario will now be departing LSU after playing two seasons under Kim Mulkey. This past season, Del Rosario averaged 2.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game.

She didn’t see much production in her second year with the LSU Tigers, but it’s a clear loss for Mulkey and her staff, as Del Rosario was originally recruited to the SEC powerhouse as a five-star prospect,  per ESPN.

Mulkey and her staff will now have to replace Del Rosario, a former blue-chip prospect, as well as Sa’Myah Smith and Last-Tear Poa before the 2025 college basketball season.
