Over the weekend a Pride Parade took place in Downtown Boston, a massive festivity in which 1 million Bostonians participated.

The Boston Bruins, of course, were present as we all know many Bruins players aren’t strangers to the community, that celebrates Pride yearly.
I LOVE IT
As seen in 2023, Charlie McAvoy and wife took part in the celebrations.
The OnlyBruins podcast social media team posted pics and videos to celebrate the weekend, on X aka Twitter.
This resulted in a massive, massive backlash which isn’t unexpected given the groundswell of efforts to deplatform the LGBT community has begun to be mainstreamed post-2016.
The OnlyBruins social media team undoubtedly were taken aback, as many NHL fans made many comments which would warrant alarm, and could constitute a backlash towards innocent people.
It’s very shameful, that this is still an issue for people, as others continue to hate others for no good reason.
The comments were locked, but Bruins staff and fans were a part of the Parade and celebrated differences with joy.
The parade, which started in Copley Square at 11 a.m. and journeyed through the city’s South End, finished on the Boston Common. Hundreds of businesses, community organizations, elected officials, employee resource groups and government agencies were expected to march, according to Boston Pride for the People, a volunteer-led organization that plans events celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.
