Izzy Higginbottom added to coaching role at Oklahoma State

Former Arkansas guard Izzy Higginbottom has been added to the Oklahoma State coaching staff as a graduate assistant, the school announced Wednesday.

“I am so excited for our players to get to learn from a player who just walked in their shoes and had so much success,” OSU Coach Jacie Hoyt said in a news release. “Her pedigree, combined with her passion to pour into our players, will be a huge gain for our program.”

In her only season as a Razorback in 2024-25, Higginbottom — a Batesville native — earned honorable mention All-America honors from both the Associated Press and the United States Basketball Writers Association after finishing second nationally with an average of 24.4 points per game. She scored 10 or more points in 30 of the Razorbacks’ 32 games.

Higginbottom broke the program’s single-season records in scoring average, total points (780) and made free throws (242).

Higginbottom was an All-Sun Belt Conference first team selection in 2023-24 while at Arkansas State after averaging 22.2 points per game, the eighth-most nationally. She was the conference’s newcomer of the year and a second-team All-Sun Belt selection in 2022-23 when she averaged 16 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

Higginbottom led Batesville to the 2019 Class 4A state championship, earning MVP honors, and a Class 5A state semifinal appearance in 2020. She scored a state-record 57 points during an 87-77 victory over Little Rock Parkview in the 2020 state tournament quarterfinals.
