Leicester City are interested in appointing West Brom boss Carlos Corberan as their new manager if Enzo Maresca joins Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail.
Writing on their website (24 May), the news outlet reported that the Foxes boss “has a strong chance” of replacing Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge after guiding Leicester back to the Premier League at the first attempt in his first season as a first-team boss.
And should he get the job, Baggies boss Corberan is among the coaches being considered as a replacement after building an “impressive” reputation in England at Huddersfield and West Brom.
West Brom must keep Carlos Corberan at all costs
It’s been a long road at The Hawthorns in recent years but for the first time in a long time, there is a light shining at the end of the tunnel.
With Shilen Patel now at the helm and the club’s financial problems hopefully a thing of the past, there is a real belief that the club can push on and make a play to get back to the Premier League once again.
After just missing out on the playoffs last year, Corberan masterminded a fantastic campaign once again to make the playoffs this time around, although they were outclassed by Southampton in the playoff semi-final second leg before Wembley.
But Corberan has shown that he can work miracles without having a budget to work with, so imagine what he can do with some financial backing and not being forced to work with just loans and free transfers?
If the club are going to go back up to the top flight then their best chance is with having Corberan as the manager, and they must do everything they can to keep him at The Hawthorns.
