Missouri Locker Room’s Major Beau Pribula Admission Nearly Confirms Eli Drinkwitz’s QB1 Decision

It looks like the Missouri Tigers’ quarterback battle might be over—without Eli Drinkwitz ever making it official.

According to multiple players and sources inside the Tigers’ locker room, Beau Pribula has quietly emerged as the team’s leader, with several veterans reportedly referring to him as “the guy” behind closed doors. One offensive lineman even called Pribula “the heartbeat of the offense” in a now-deleted Instagram story, further fueling speculation that the Penn State transfer has won the starting job.

While Coach Drinkwitz has stayed mum on naming a QB1 heading into the 2025 season, his recent praise of Pribula’s command, consistency, and dual-threat ability during summer workouts only adds to the growing signs that a decision has already been made—just not publicly.

“Beau’s just got that poise you can’t teach,” one receiver said anonymously. “You feel it in the huddle.”

The quarterback battle was expected to be one of the most tightly contested in the SEC, with sophomore Sam Horn and freshman phenom Travis Greene also in the mix. But insiders now say it would take a major shake-up to knock Pribula off the top spot.

If true, Missouri’s QB future just got a whole lot clearer—and a lot more mobile.
