Penn State Had 3-Word Reaction to Saquon Barkley’s 62-Yard Touchdown Run
The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Los Angeles Rams 28-22 in their divisional round matchup on Sunday, and superstar running back Saquon Barkley played a big role in the victory. After his first huge touchdown of the day, his alma mater, the Penn State Nittany Lions, had an epic three-word reaction.
Barkley finished the day with 205 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in addition to four receptions for another 27 yards. Both his scores came on long runs, with his first being 62 yards long, and his second, which ended up being the game-winner, being 78 yards long.
The first touchdown gave Philadelphia a 13-7 lead, and it caught the attention of the Nittany Lions, whose 2024 campaign came to an end when they suffered a 27-24 defeat at the hands of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Rooting for their former player, Penn State sent quite a message to Barkley after his big play.
“FLY SAQUON FLY,” Penn State said on X, formerly known as Twitter, after Barkley’s 62-yard scamper to the end zone.
In his first season with the Eagles, Barkley has been so good with his new team that he inserted his name into the MVP race. He racked up 2,005 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns in just 16 games, and he’s been just as good in the postseason, as he’s already picked up 324 total rushing yards in their first two playoff games.
With a date against the Commanders on the books now, the Eagles are going to need Barkley to be at his best with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, especially now that Jalen Hurts appears to have suffered a concerning injury to his right leg.
Philadelphia is currently scheduled to play against Washington on Sunday, Jan, 26, at 2 p.m. EST in the NFC championship game, with the winner earning a trip to Super Bowl 59.
