Florida Gators can make huge impression on four-star DL target by focusing on one key element
The 2025 recruiting class is currently one that is in the early stages. The Florida Gators have just three 2026 commits shortly after 2025 National Signing Day, but there is no reason to panic.
Head coach Billy Napier has put a heavy emphasis so far in the recruiting cycle on the trenches. They are a finalist for three-star offensive lineman Bear McWhorter, whose father played college football with Napier at Furman. They are also trying to get into the final six for five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, who is considering the Gators for that final spot in his top six.

The latest recruiting intel regarding the Florida Gators has them in contention for a top-100 recruit in four-star edge rusher JaReylan McCoy out of Tupelo, Mississippi.
He named the Gators as one of the five schools he will be taking a visit to this spring/summer.
The four-star prospect is currently On3 Sports’ 88th-ranked player and eighth-ranked defensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class. His scouting report from Charles Power of On3 Sports profiles a player with a great pairing of size and athleticism.
Physically gifted defensive lineman with a huge frame and plus athleticism as a high school underclassman. has measured in over 6-foot-6.5 and close to 250 pounds prior to his sophomore season. Owns plus length for the position with 34.25-inch arms. Registers as a top athlete, running a 4.89 second 40-yard dash at Student Sports’ All-22 camp. Lines up as a big defensive end for his high school. Physical gifts are readily apparent on Friday nights. Flashes good speed and functional movement skills. Closes to make some impressive plays. Has upside as a run defender, using his big frame to body offensive linemen. Still early in his development. Likely not done growing and could see his frame maxing out at north of 300 pounds. Size and athleticism make him one of the early top defensive linemen in the 2026 cycle.
