and 13 RBI.

ARKANSAS 11, LOUISIANA-MONROE 2 (6 innings)

In their first game Friday, the Razorbacks broke through with a six-run third inning to set the tone for an 11-2 win over Louisiana-Monroe.

Rijo put the Razorbacks ahead 1-0 when she led off the third with a solo home run to right field. It was the first homer for Rijo, who played in only nine games last year due to a labrum injury in her left shoulder, since March 7, 2023, at Missouri.

“She was locked in, and dialed” Deifel said. “She had a big day, and she’s been working for that.”

After a single and stolen base by Reagan Johnson, senior first baseman Bri Ellis hit an RBI double to right-center field. Ellis was 2-for-2 at the plate against the Warhawks (1-6), and also drew two walks.

Miller hit an RBI single to score Ellis, then two at-bats later Day hit a three-run homer. It was the fourth home run of the season for Day, a Texas graduate transfer.

Johnson tripled to lead off the fourth, and base hits by Wyckoff and Ella McDowell pushed the lead to 8-0. The Razorbacks had four of their 13 hits in the fourth inning.

It was the first career multi-RBI performance for McDowell, a freshman from Richmond, Texas. She hit a sacrifice fly to give Arkansas a 9-0 lead in the top of the fifth.

Arkansas freshman pitcher Payton Burnham (3-0) pitched well before running into some trouble in the fifth. ULM scored two runs on a single by Meagan Brown to make it 9-2, and made the Razorbacks wait another inning to initiate a run rule.

Burnham gave up 2 hits with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks in her 4 innings pitched. She faced 18 batters and threw 43 of 61 pitches for strikes.

Cam Harrison entered in relief of Burnham and tossed 2 innings with 1 hit, 2 strikeouts, 2 walks and 2 wild pitches. She gave up the single to Brown, and one run was charged to both her and Burnham.

Harrison helped her cause in the top of the sixth with a two-run double that scored Kramer (walk) and Karlie Davison (hit by pitch). Harrison finished off the run rule in the bottom of the sixth.
