Atalyia Rijo hits walk-off grand slam as Arkansas softball trounces Missouri State

FAYETTEVILLE — In its final tune-up before SEC play, the Arkansas softball team took care of business Sunday at Bogle Park.

The Razorbacks (19-1) secured their 15th run-rule victory of the season with a 13-2 win in 5 innings over Missouri State. It capped a 5-0 weekend of run rules for Arkansas in its home-opening Wooo Pig Classic, as it defeated opponents by a combined 56-7 score.

“Our fans were incredible this weekend,” Arkansas coach Courtney Deifel said. “They showed up. They had a lot of other things — baseball is at home, gymnastics — they had a lot of other things going, and they showed up really spirited.

“It’s just really nice to get to play in front of them, and then anytime we play a game, I will never take a win for granted.
