Dabo Swinney, Clemson stay red-hot, land second 4-star WR of the weekend

Don’t look now, Clemson fans, Dabo Swinney is piping-hot right now on the recruiting trail.
The Tigers just landed their third commitment of the weekend and second on Saturday in the former of another four-star receiver.
This time, it was four-star wideout Connor Salmin who picked the Tigers, choosing Clemson over the likes of Notre Dame and Penn State.
If you were confused about me emphasizing the word “another” above, it’s because if you linked on Saturday night, you probably missed the commitment from the other four-star wide receiver who committed to the Tigers. That’s right, Salmin was the second four-star wideout to pledge to the Tigers on Saturday night, joining top-65 recruit Naeem Burroughs from Jacksonville, Fla.
On Friday afternoon, it was four-star offensive tackle Adam Guthrie who picked Clemson and he, too, chose the Tigers over some elite programs, Penn State and Ohio State.
Salmin is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound receiver from Potomac, Md., and he held over 30 offers. Like others, he had an official visit planned to Clemson this summer.
The duo of Salmin and Burroughs is going to be a fun one.
So far on the weekend, Clemson’s 2026 recruiting class has jumped all the way to No. 8 in the country and it’s gone from six commits to nine in the span of a little over 24 hours. Swinney has also been able to beat out programs like USC, Texas, Florida, Ohio State, Penn State, and Notre Dame for these elite recruits, proving that he’s one of the best recruiters in the game.
Get back to the playoff again in 2025 and we’ll see the 2026 class pushing for that No. 1 spot.
