Dick Vitale makes confident prediction for March Madness NCAA Tournament national champion

ESPN legend Dick Vitale has seen a lot of college basketball teams in his announcing career.

He’s also got a special way about getting his point across.

That all combined for some entertaining analysis on Saturday night during the ACC title game when Vitale was asked who would win the national championship.

“Oh wow, you’re gonna put me on the spot?” Vitale said, then repeated.

Vitale even managed some self-deprecation in his overall analysis.

“My bald dome tells me that when you’ve got a team that ranks as the only team in America on KenPom offensively in the nation… has the best player in the country. I can even spell it. D-U-K-E. Duke is gonna win it all,” Vitale concluded.

The Blue Devils have been one of the national title favorites all season, and their ACC championship on Saturday night over Louisville didn’t remove any hype.

Fellow ESPN color commentator Cory Alexander did point out one thing — Duke will have to get healthy.

Cooper Flagg missed the ACC semifinal and final with an ankle injury, and center Maliq Brown is also out hurt, too.

Duke likely needs those guys back to make its maximum NCAA Tournament run.

But if Duke can get to full strength, Vitale very well might be spot on.
