The Green Bay Packers have reasons to be concerned on Wednesday, but there are reasons to be positive on Thursday. Cornerback Jaire Alexander, left guard Elgton Jenkins, and defensive tackle Kenny Clark, who didn’t practice to start the week, were available in Thursday’s activity, which is a good indication for their availability on Sunday, when the Packers face the Los Angeles Rams in California.
Alexander has a groin injury suffered a week ago that made him miss the Minnesota Vikings game. He has recovered from a quad injury he had previously, and it’s not listed on the report anymore.
Clark is still handling a toe injury, but it hasn’t precluded him from playing. Jenkins has taken some Wednesdays off — so even if he is listed with a knee injury as well, the fact that he is practicing is a relief for the Packers.
Concern
The new reason for concern is wide receiver Romeo Doubs. He hadn’t been on Wednesday’s injury report, but now he missed Thursday’s practice.
Wide receiver Christian Watson, defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt, and tight end Luke Musgrave all have ankle injuries and didn’t practice either. Watson and Wyatt are expected to miss the Rams game, but Green Bay hasn’t clarified Musgrave’s status for week 5.
Another player who did not participate in Thursday’s activities is rookie off-ball linebacker Edgerrin Cooper. He has a hip injury and was limited on Wednesday.
The remaining players on the initial injury report participated in the padded practice: quarterback Jordan Love (knee), guard Jordan Morgan (shoulder), and cornerback Carrington Valentine (ankle).
The Packers will still have another practice on Friday. After that, they need to release the final injury report and the injury designations for the game.
