Ohio State Head Coach Ryan Day Reveals Major Offseason Change
Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes will be looking to defend their 2024 national championship. Things will not be easy in 2025.
Ohio State will be without many of the key players who led the run to a title. There are a lot of new Buckeyes who will be playing on Sunday’s next year.
Despite all of the player departures, Ohio State is still one of the most talented teams in the nation. If the young players can play up to their potential, the Buckeyes will be just fine.
In order to get the most out of all the new starters, Day will need to put together a strong coaching season.
As the 2025 season continues to draw closer, Day spoke out about a major change he has made this offseason.
During his press conference on Monday, a reporter made an observation about Day.
“You seem more relaxed,” the reporter said.
Day responded that the reporter was right.
“I’m definitely more relaxed,” he said. “To say I’m not is crazy. There’s no question. We’re in a different place than we were a couple of months ago. I mean, let’s call it for what it is.”
Over the years, Day has been very vocal about his passion for mental health awareness. He has dealt with his own problems after his father passed away due to suicide when he was younger.
Following the loss to Michigan in the regular season finale last year, fans attacked the head coach aggressively. Day’s wife opened up and shared some shocking things that were being said to him.
“They told me multiple times to have Ryan follow in his father’s footsteps and kill himself,” she said.
To see Day regroup and lead a championship run after going that kind of mental abuse was impressive and something he should be extremely proud to have accomplished.
