LSU Tigers 2019 National Championship stars continue making unbelievable history amid NFL Free Agency all these years later

When you talk about the best teams in the history of college football, the 2019 LSU Tigers is always at the top of the list. They dominated the Southeastern Confenrece going 15-0 while only scoring less than 40 points three times

  • at Mississippi State: 36-13 win
  • vs. Auburn: 23-20 win
  • vs. Georgia: 37-10 in SEC Championship Game

The Tigers, led by head coach Ed Orgeron, were a dominant force in the best conference in the country with the offense leading the way.

2019 LSU Tigers make NFL history

The Tigers had a plethora of first-round picks from that 2019 team

  • 2020: QB Joe Burrow (1st overall), EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson (20th overall), WR Justin Jefferson (22nd overall), RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (32nd overall)
  • 2021: WR Ja’Marr Chase (5th overall)
  • 2022: CB Derek Stingley Jr. (3rd overall)

Not only did they have a lot of players go in the first round, the Tigers saw a lot get drafted on days two and three. They were national champions, including hanging a whopping 63 points on Oklahoma in the semifinals, a game that was over in the first quarter.

The biggest stars of that squad were well known in Burrow, Jefferson, Chase, and Stingley. They have taken their success in Baton Rouge over to the NFL and it’s paid off with their wallets.

This group of teammates has signed market-level extensions with each of them setting the market at the time of signing for a total of $666 million.

  • Burrow: 5 years, $275 million
  • Jefferson: 4 years, $140 million
  • Chase: 4 years, $161 million
  • Stingley: 3 years, $90 million

It’s an absurd amount of money for the group, but each has had an argument of being the best player at their position during their short NFL career. That has paid off in the biggest way for their careers as they continue to be at the top of the NFL.
