For a defense that has struggled over the first four weeks of the season, the Philadelphia Eagles have plenty of young players waiting in the wings for their opportunity.
As the early portion of the season has progressed, the fans of Philadelphia have been pushing for their younger players (particularly in the secondary) to see the field more.
Heading into Week 6, it looks like they’ll get their wish.
Not only is second-round rookie Cooper DeJean expected to start his first game Sunday in the slot, but second-year safety Sydney Brown has seen his practice window open up after tearing up his ACL late last season.
Brown and DeJean seeing the field for the Birds would be an excellent plus for the organization entering a key part of the season. If their young players in the secondary can fit well into their defensive scheme, it could provide the organization the push to add more to their current roster.
