New York Rangers fans are outraged following tough OT loss to the Utah Hockey Club during the Rangers home opener.
Fans are not only upset that the New York Rangers lost but they are furious at the NHL Officials from tonight’s game especially Wes McCauley and call for him to be fired after some of the calls he missed along with the ridiculous calls he did make.
Wes McCauley needs to be fired…..he’s terrible
Wes McCauley should be stopped from reffing NHL games
It all started during the opening minute of the night as Adam fox was tripped behind the Rangers net and lost puck possession and no penalty was called, but what’s shocking is McCauley was standing right beside the play:
Fox gets tripped and lost puck possession right in front of Wes McCauley. No Call. #NYR
Then another ridiculous call was made when Rangers rookie Victor Mancini scores a beautiful goal from the top of the zone but then the goal was overturned as Matt Rempe gets called for goaltender interference.
No goal call stands… #NYR to the PK
Here’s the clip of the call on Matt Rempe that got Mancini’s goal overturned:
Wes McCauley called this goalie interference.. #NYR
Unfortunately it doesn’t end there, as a tough call was made on Cuylle with 11:27 left of the third, as he was chasing down the puck and Connor Ingram decided to come out of the net and played the puck, leaving to the two of them colliding with each other. The contact was without a doubt unavoidable but Cuylle was still called for goalie interference.
Then to make matters worse Miller was called for a high-stick just 1:09 later giving Utah the five-on-three advantage where they managed to score a goal with just 39 seconds remaining of the penalties, giving Utah a 5-3 lead.
Ultimately a tough game for the Rangers as they tied the game up and took the game to OT, but ended up losing after Keller puts the game winning goal over Shesterkin.
