Former Auburn WR Drops Bold ‘Best In The Country’ Declaration

There is still roughly six months before the college football season starts. However, it will not stop certain players from making way-too-early predictions about how good their squad would be. Coach Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers were not safe from this at all.

It is no secret that Auburn’s football squad has a chip on their shoulder after not participating in a bowl game during the 2024 season. Now, all Coach Hugh Freeze wants is for the Tigers to get back to the postseason and maybe even wreak havoc in the College Football Playoff.

What will set Auburn apart? KeAndre Lambert-Smith posits that  it could be their wide receiver corps, via The Next Round Live.

“It was amazing. They look different. We got the young guys stepping up. They look different, they look confident. They’re definitely gonna run college football,” the former Auburn wide receiver said.

Lambert-Smith does make a great point here. Coach Freeze will have a fairly stacked cast of weapons in 2025. Their starters could be Cam Coleman, Eric Singleton, and Malcolm Simmons. Guys like Horatio Fields, Perry Thompson, Bryce Cain, Sam Turner, Duke Smith, and Erick Smith will all have the opportunities to pop off too.

Not to mention, Auburn’s tight ends seem very solid too. Brandon Frazier and Preston Howard are set to be the leaders in that set of bruisers. The goal to become the best wide receiver corps in the nation is definitely lofty. But, it is not at all far off and the Tigers have enough time to train before the season kicks off.
