Historic College Football Teams Get Big News on Projected $2.7 Million QB’s Decision

On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported the Georgia Bulldogs could receive the final decision from the program’s top 2026 quarterback target soon. On Monday, the recruiting insider provided a specific date.

Wiltfong reported five-star quarterback Jared Curtis will announce his college football decision on May 5. Curtis is deciding between Georgia and the Oregon Ducks.

“Curtis is a former Bulldogs commit that reopened his process during the fall,” Wiltfong wrote. “Since then it’s been a back-and-forth at the top between the Big Ten Champs and SEC Champs.”

Curtis visited both schools during March. The quarterback and his family indicated both visits went extremely well.

Because Curtis de-committed from Georgia, it initially didn’t appear likely Curtis would again agree to sign with the Bulldogs. But on Monday, Wiltfong described Georgia as “always” a favorite.

“Georgia speaks for itself,” Curtis told On3. “I’ve built a relationship with Coach Bobo and Coach Smart.

“I think they’re a powerhouse and they have great coaches all around. They have the players up there and they’re very disciplined.

“The biggest thing is the relationship with Coach Bobo and what they do with quarterbacks,” Curtis said. “Coach Bobo has a long history and he’s done great as an offensive coordinator and I’m looking forward to getting back up there.”

Curtis is the No. 1 signal-caller and No. 2 overall recruit in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Wiltfong has previously reported Curtis will visit Georgia and Oregon in June. But his decision will now obviously come before that.

On3 projected the five-star prospect’s latest NIL value to be $2.7 million.
