BREAKING: Indiana’s Lilly Meister to enter the transfer portal

Indiana junior forward Lilly Meister will enter the transfer portal, according to multiple reports published Tuesday afternoon.

A native of Rochester, Minnesota, the 6-foot-3 Meister appeared in 96 games over three seasons for the Hoosiers, making 18 starts.

Meister served as a backup behind All-American Mackenzie Holmes in her first two seasons. She made one start as a freshman in the 2022-23 season and averaged 2.4 points and 2.1 rebounds in 6.5 minutes per game. Meister shot 63 percent from the field and 73.9 percent from the free-throw line as a freshman.

Her minutes increased to 10.4 per game as a sophomore and she played in 32 games. Meister averaged 3.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and shot 71.4 percent from the field and 69.9 percent from the free-throw line.

This past season, her junior campaign, Meister started 17 of Indiana’s 33 games. She averaged 6.7 points and 3.5 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game.

In Indiana’s round of 64 NCAA tournament win against Utah, Meister scored eight of her 11 points in the first quarter.

She scored in double figures eight times in Indiana’s first 13 games, including 20 points and 15 rebounds in an overtime loss to Harvard on November 7 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

Meister also had 20 points in a 72-62 win against Columbia University in the Battle 4 Atlantis and 20 points in an 83-52 blowout win against Wisconsin on December 28 in Bloomington.

She has one season of eligibility remaining.
