Austin will be the home of plenty of big-time events over the weekend, headlined by the Texas Longhorns hosting the Georgia Bulldogs. An SEC matchup college football fans have been waiting for, it’s the first-ever head-to-head matchup of Steve Sarkisian and Kirby Smart. Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium will play host, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
Before taking the field, there are a few injuries for the teams to play with. Big news has already been reported on, with Georgia linebacker Smael Mondon Jr. being ruled out for the game. Mondon has missed multiple games now due to a foot injury, being a huge part of the Bulldogs’ defense.
A few other key names will now be monitored for the rest of the week as the Wednesday injury report has been released by the SEC. We will receive three more reports before the game gets underway as statuses can change throughout.

Georgia heading to Austin for pivotal SEC showdown
No matter these two teams’ records or rankings, Oct. 19 was a date circled on a lot of calendars. Two of the biggest programs in the sport are getting together for the first massive SEC battle in Austin. Impressive early-season showings only add to the intrigue.
Georgia does already have a loss on their resume, falling to Alabama in September. Two losses would severely hurt their chances of making the SEC Championship but far from eliminating the Bulldogs from College Football Playoff contention. On the flip side, a win would put them right back up there in the conversation as a top-two team in the country.
For Texas, they are ranked No. 1 and remained in the top spot after taking down Oklahoma in the Red River Shootout. To find the last time the program held the top spot in the AP poll for consecutive weeks, you have to go back to 2008.
