Faces in the Crowd: How outfield traditions helped write a Hog Pen love story
FAYETTEVILLE — The Hog Pen is full of people who have made lifelong friendships from years of attending Arkansas baseball games at Baum-Walker Stadium. But Grant Clemens, known to some as “the ‘two down, Texas sucks’ guy,” met his future wife there.
It was March 14, 2023. The Razorbacks were hosting UNLV for Game 1 of a midweek series on a Tuesday afternoon. Clemens was in his usual spot in the Hog Pen with his cooler, waiting for a friend to join him to watch the game. Cox and a friend were set up to Clemens’ left, and he got to talking to her while waiting for his buddy.
“Somehow, I got her to ask for my number,” he said.
