The Toronto Blue Jays seem to be willing to listen to all offers on Bo Bichette this off-season as he is headed into the last year of his current deal and it looks like the Atlanta Braves are very interested.
The Braves are looking to have a big off-season to return to the playoffs next season and one of their main concerns seems to be getting a shortstop that produces more offensively than Orlando Arcia did in 2024.
The Atlanta Braves are interested in trading for Bo Bichette
According to Athletics’ reporter Zachary D. Rymer, there is a high likelihood that the Blue Jays decide to trade Bo Bichette this off-season and Atlanta seems to be one of the top landing spots.
“[USA Today’s Bob Nightengale] wrote in August that the Blue Jays are ‘expected to entertain trade offers’ for Bo Bichette, who ‘has no plans’ to stay as a free agent after the 2025 season,” Rymer wrote. “Indeed, he may have signaled as much by only selling out his arbitration years with his current contract. -Holcomb
The Blue Jays would likely get Arcia in return in the trade package with some prospects which would not be a bad move since it would free up some money for off-season signings.
The Braves seems to have Willy Adames and Bichette at the top of their list from players they are targetting this off-season.
“You gotta get an elite shortstop, whether it’s Bo Bichette, Willy Adames,” Francoeur said. “You gotta get someone who’s got power at that position. If you do that, you got one of the deepest lineups in baseball if everybody’s healthy.»
Hopefully if the Blue Jays do end up going forward with this deal, the focus will not be the return but using the available money to get a solid player on the free agent market.
