Georgia Football Gets Great News on Sunday
The Georgia Bulldogs have received a huge boost in their pursuit of a top quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class.
For the Bulldogs, the main focus at the position has been Jared Curtis (Nashville, Tenn.), the No. 1 signal-caller in the class.
Georgia is locked in a battle with the Oregon Ducks for Curtis’ services, but the Bulldogs have also put significant effort into the pursuit of Bowe Bentley (Celina, Texas), who is the fifth-ranked quarterback by On3’s rankings and ninth by their composite industry rankings.
And the Bulldogs moved a step closer to securing Bentley’s commitment after he narrowed his list of finalists down to three programs on Sunday.
Bentley has selected the Bulldogs as one of his final three, with an official visit to Athens locked in for June 6-8, per Hayes Fawcett of On3.
Georgia’s competition comes from two fellow SEC schools in the form of the Oklahoma Sooners and the LSU Tigers.
Bentley will visit the Sooners on June 13-15 before wrapping up his round of official visits with LSU on June 20-22.
Prior to this announcement, On3 considered Oklahoma the favorites to land Bentley, giving the Sooners a 39% shot of securing his commitment. The Florida State Seminoles were second on 18%, with Georgia on 15%.
The proximity of the Sooners’ campus to Celina may still give the Sooners the edge, but it’s fair to say that Georgia’s odds have just shot up dramatically.
