FSU football landed Jacob Rizy out of the portal over the offseason to bolster their depth along the interior of the offensive line and that move has paid off.

The veteran, who started his career at Harvard, started last week against the Miami Hurricanes and is now the starting left guard on their depth chart for Week 10 against the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Rizy finished the game with a PFF grade of 64.0, the sixth highest on FSU’s offense. Head coach Mike Norvell said after the game he struggled early but thought he “he did some good things” and that he “held his own throughout it.”

Rizy spoke with the media after Florida State practiced on Wednesday and discussed transitions to a higher level of football, making the start, and how he has developed since joining the team.
