The New York Yankees offer to Juan Soto has been leaked as it will reportedly be a 13 year contract worth $575 million which is much lower than expected.
Soto has been vocal about his free agency plans to go to the team that will make him the best offer and after an incredible season in 2024 helping the Yankees reach the World Series, he will likely get an offer close to $700 million.
New York Yankees offer for Juan Soto has been leaked
Most insiders believed that Soto will be signing a contract similar to the one Shohei Ohtani signed last year with the Los Angeles Dodgers which was a 10 year $700 million contract.
Soto is reportedly searching for a similar amount and it looks like many teams are willing to pay but the Yankees are coming in $125 million under that amount which looks like they might lose out of the Soto sweepstakes.
Sources close to the New York Yankees top echelon have told Pinstripesnation that the team is preparing to offer Juan Soto a 13-year, $575 million fixed contract. Meanwhile, the Mets are also reportedly planning a comparable annual salary package but with a 10-year duration. The Yankees’ ownership has indicated a willingness to include an additional year but with a $25 million club option. -Quiones
Since the New York Mets owner said he is willing to pay Soto whatever it takes to make him a Met and refuses to be outbid, this offer from the Yankees will likely end up at the bottom of the pile.
This offer shows that the Yankees would like to keep Soto but only to a certain point which is surprising since he was a huge part in getting them to the World Series this season.
