The Toronto Blue Jays seem very interested in bringing in a new corner outfielder and seem to be interested in their former player as Randal Grichuk is now a free agent.
A side from pitching which the Blue Jays clearly plan on making some big changes, it seems like they are in the market for an outfielder which seems to be one of their top priorities this winter.
Blue Jays are interested in signing their former outfielder Randal Grichuk
According to recent reports, the Blue Jays are interested in bringing back Grichuk as he became a free agent after his one year deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks expired.
One of the areas the team will look to upgrade is in the outfield, and one of the better fits available could be free agent Randal Grichuk, who spent four years with the franchise from 2018-2021. The 33-year-old was a productive player in blue, hitting .243 with 90 home runs, 257 RBI, and a .751 OPS (100 OPS+). -Wallace
The 33 year old spent 4 years which the Blue Jays which included the best season of his career in 2019 when he hit 31 homeruns.
The Blue Jays could likely get Grichuk at a decent price since he is getting older and is not one of the bigger names on the market despite having put up solid numbers throughout his career including last season in Arizona.
During the 2024 season, Grichuk hit 12 homeruns and 46 RBIs with a .291 batting average and .348 on base percentage in 106 games which is solid numbers even though they are small compared to Juan Soto.
While fans have been hoping for some major signings this off-season which this is clearly not, bringing Grichuk back could end up being a solid move at a cheap price.
