Blue Jays might be interested in trading for Nolan Arenado
MLB insider John Goldberg confirmed this morning that the St Louis Cardinals could be interested in moving third baseman Nolan Arenado this off-season as they are looking for younger players.
Some reports out there that Nolan Arenado could be on the trade block. Looks like he has 3 years and $52 million left on his deal.
Would you like the Blue Jays to go after him?
Arenado had an off year in 2024 on an average Cardinals team in which he still hit 16 homeruns and 71 RBIs with a .272 batting average and .325 on base percentage which is solid but down for his usual incredible numbers.
If the Blue Jays are able to acquire Arenado for not too big of a return, he could end up being an incredible steal since he is great defensively and is a consistent hitter even on the bac end of his career.
Even if Arenado is not the player he once was, he would still be highly effective for the Blue Jays and could be a better options than other third basemen they have been looking at such as Alex Bregman.
The Blue Jays have some interesting choices to make this off-season and hopefully their front office makes the right ones.
