Cooper Flagg’s Mom Makes Big Promise If Duke Wins National Title
The No. 1 seed Duke Blue Devils face off against No. 1 Houston in the Final Four on Saturday.
Led by superstar freshman Cooper Flagg, Duke has had almost no issues the entire NCAA Tournament. Only one game during this run has been decided by single digits, and that was in the Sweet 16 in a 100-93 win over No. 4 Arizona.
However, Houston is a tough team, especially defensively, which makes this showdown even that much more mouth-watering.
On Friday, Flagg was named the Oscar Robertston Award winner and the AP Player of the Year with the ceremony taking place in San Antonio.
Once again, his parents were on hand to see him earn the award.
In turn, his mom, Kelly Flagg, revealed she made a big promise if Duke wins the national title: She will get a tattoo, per Lindsay Schnell of The Athletic.
“What I said (after the regional) was, if we win the whole thing — I shouldn’t say if, I don’t like that word — when we win the whole thing, then we will get a tattoo to commemorate,” Kelly Flagg stated. “I’ll get a tattoo anywhere. He can pick the spot — except my face — if they do what they need to do.”
Cooper Flagg then responded perfectly after his mom stated the tattoo remark.
“Very interesting,” Cooper Flagg said. “I’m going to have to carefully consider my options and really make a smart decision here on what I want to do, if I want to torture her or not.”
Kelly Flagg has been in the headlines lately, most notably for her actions in the regular season finale against North Carolina.
After a huge dunk by Cooper Flagg, cameras caught Kelly Flagg reacting with some inappropriate words, although she later apologized for those actions.
Now, she has revealed a tattoo promise if Duke can cut down the nest in the Final Four, and only time will tell if she has to follow through with that one.
