Kalen DeBoer’s 2025 recruiting class has been in the headlines recently for a few negative reasons. First, five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham switched from the Tide to Ole Miss, and then four-star linebacker commit Dawson Merritt chose to change to Nebraska.
That wasn’t all, though. On Sunday afternoon, four-star running back Anthony “Turbo” Rogers de-committed from Alabama after being committed since June 2023. Almost immediately following that announcement, On3’s Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction for Rogers to commit to Ohio State.
“I will announce my decision on Signing Day (Dec. 4),” Rogers said. “It will be between Georgia and Ohio State. I had great visits to both schools, and I will keep talking to them, praying on it, and seeing what my gut feeling is telling me. It is something I will think a lot about in the next couple of weeks.”

Rogers has taken visits to both Ohio State and Georgia during the season.
“The visit was good,” Rogers told On3 about Ohio State. “I enjoyed the environment, and I like their offensive system. They let me know that they want me. They feel I have an opportunity to produce there with my skill set and that they could develop and help me get to the NFL.”
With the loss of Rogers, Cunningham, and Merritt, Alabama’s class has fallen from No. 1 to No. 4 in the On3 Team Industry recruiting rankings after holding the No. 1 spot for a couple of weeks. The Tide has one running back commit in the 2025 class from four-star and No. 2 running back in the class, Akylin Dear.
