Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs got the job done on Sunday afternoon – barely.
Kansas City topped Carolina, 30-27, at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Chiefs, who lost to the Bills, 30-21, last week, rebounded from their first loss of the season to get back in the win column on Sunday. The Chiefs have had a lot of close wins this season, which isn’t something Patrick Mahomes wants to make a habit of.
“You want to have some blowouts,’’ Mahomes said postgame. “You want be a little calmer in the fourth quarter. I’ve always said it can be a good thing as you get to the playoffs and later in the season, just knowing that you’ve been in those moments before and knowing how to kind of attack it. But I would love to win a game [before] the very last play.’’
Travis Kelce, meanwhile, is simply enjoying the wins. He took to social media with a three-word message for everyone after Sunday afternoon’s victory.
“Double digit dubs!!” he wrote.
The Chiefs improved to 10-1 on the season on Sunday, becoming the first team to get to double-digit wins in 2024.
Kansas City has a short week coming up, as the Chiefs will be taking on the Raiders on Friday, in an NFL Black Friday game.
Sunday’s win was a special one for Andy Reid, too. He now has 19 seasons with at least 10 victories. That makes him the third coach in NFL history to get to that mark.
Bill Belichick and Hall of Famer Don Shula both have 20 seasons with at least 10 victories.
